I never thought I’d say this but I missed running while I was sidelined. Now that I’m back, I feel like I’m starting from scratch again. Not knowing what my body could handle, I’ve been focusing my runs based on time as opposed to mileage. So last week I had two 20 minute runs (all on grass-less impact) and yesterday I ran 25 minutes (treadmill).
At 140 HR my pace is about 10:20/mile. Early January, at 140 HR my pace was around 9:15/mile. It’s hard to say whether or not I’ll be ready to run the 4 miler at the end of this month.
This time around, I’m crossing my T’s and dotting my I’s doing everything by the book. Proper warm-up, cool down, stretch before and after.
Injury is not an option if I want to be the best triathlete in the world! Don’t take me seriously…
